Fraser Sturt is Professor of Maritime Archaeology at the University of Southampton. His research focuses on addressing complex social questions through generation, integration and analysis of data from multiple sources, often within a geospatial framework. While his focus is on maritime prehistory, the interdisciplinary nature of his work and the utility of methods employed have seen him carry out research on a wide range of projects across the world (on land and underwater). In recent years this has seen an increase in interdisciplinary research on contemporary topics, from environmental impact assessment and evaluation, to civic and community focused initiatives.
